Fungal Nail Treatment
The Q-switched laser will be absorbed by the pigments in the nail fungus.
The laser is used in a systematic pass over the complete nail surface.
The laser energy causes a controlled heating effect penetrating through the nail bed, destroying fungi without damaging the surrounding tissue.
A diagnosis of nail fungal infection made by a doctor or podiatrist is required.
Treatment regime and post treatment care
The client must attend with clean feet and with their nails completely clear of any nail varnish/ nail varnish remover.
Client must bring a brand new pair of socks with them to avoid re-infecting the treated nails after the treatment.
It is usual for clients to have a second treatment one month later. It is possible to have further treatments one month apart if necessary. It is suggested that two sessions are usually sufficient to kill the fungus.
Post treatment it is required to change socks and shoes frequently to try keep the feet dry and free from perspiration.
Antifungal powders in socks can help prevent re-infection.
What is a ND-YAG Laser?
A Q-Switch is an electronic device for creating very short pulses of light.
The short pulses are used to fragment the ink of your tattoo. Your immune system then removes tiny fragments.
The laser beam creates a photo-accoustic shock wave which when absorbed by the tattoo pigments causes them to fragment.
Heat is released by the ink during this fragmentation which affects the cells surrounding the tattoo, causing them to become white.
*ALL OUR LASER TREATMENTS REQUIRE A PRIOR CONSULTATION & PATCH TEST*
